Tim Edwards – Chair of Trustees

Tim is President and Chief Executive Officer of Cellzome Inc, a drug discovery and development company, which is a world-leader in the use of chemical proteomics technologies to identify a new generation of selective drug candidates for the treatment of inflammatory diseases. Tim is also a Director of the BioIndustry Association, the trade association for innovative enterprises in the UK’s bioscience sector; and a Fellow of the RSA, a charity which seeks to develop and promote new ways of thinking about human fulfilment and social progress.
Tim lives in Oxfordshire and is married to Caroline; they have 3 teenage sons, including monozygotic twins.

Ursula Howard – Vice Chair of Trustees

Ursula Howard has spent all her working life in education, as a teacher, senior manager and researcher, mainly in the field of adult literacy learning. Before retiring in 2008, Ursula was Director of the National Research and Development Centre for Adult Literacy and Numeracy at the Institute of Education, University of London. She is now a Visiting Professorial Fellow there and works as a literacy consultant in several countries. Ursula is closely involved with the Mulberry Bush ‘Outcomes’ project, a longitudinal study of the progress children make over their time at the School. She is interested in developing practitioners’ engagement in research at Mulberry Bush. She is a Quaker, and convenes a group which works with other organisations to address poverty in Oxford.

Dennis Craggs – Hon. Treasurer & Company Secretary

Dennis joined the Mulberry Bush in 1994 as a Trustee and Honorary Treasurer. Dennis received an Engineering Science degree at St Peter’s college, Oxford, in 1973 and qualified with Coopers & Lybrand in Newcastle as a Chartered Accountant in 1977.Subsequently, Dennis worked for a number of years overseas in the Bahamas and Canada, returning to London in 1983.Since then, Dennis has worked in various financial roles in a number of sectors, most recently for ten years as a director with a focus on international tax and finance for an American owned property business developing and operating a self storage business across seven European countries. Dennis divides his time between Medmenham, near Marlow, and France and has an interest in a racehorse.

Judith Atkinson – Chair of Education, Care & Treatment Committee

Judith gained a first degree in Social Anthropology and took specialist courses in Psychiatric Social Work and psychodynamic counselling. Judith held posts in child care, adult mental health and in adoption. Her last post was as manager of Oxfordshire County Council’s child and adolescent mental health (CAMHS) social work team. Judith held this post for eleven years and found it most challenging, interesting and rewarding work. Judith retired in 2005. She is a member of Oxford University’s Research Ethics Committee for the Humanities. Spiritual life is important to her and she is an active member of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers).Judith has been a Trustee of the Bush since 1996. Judith is hugely impressed by the work of the Bush and feels privileged to be able to serve a Trustee.

Gina Alexander

Originally an historian, specializing in 16C ecclesiastical history, Gina taught in comprehensive schools in Bermondsey and South London before joining Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Schools in 1978. While in the Inspectorate Gina retrained as a Jungian psychoanalyst and then had a private practice in Blackheath. Moving to Oxford in 2000, Gina continued as an analyst for four years before retiring from clinical work in 2004.
Gina has four children and five grandchildren.

Diana Biddlestone

Diana Biddlestone began her career as a teacher then qualified as an Educational Psychologist at University College in London. Subsequently Diana held a research fellowship in Aberdeen and worked as an EP in Norfolk, Berks and Bucks before joining Oxfordshire. Diana has delivered psychology services to schools and families, held a specialist post for dyslexia, managed the Oxford team of EPs, developed an EP service to young offenders in Huntercombe Young Offenders Institute and been heavily involved in rolling out the Every Child Matters agenda across the county. Diana currently manages the West Oxfordshire educational psychology team. Diana is married with two adult children and an assortment of cats and dogs and has an interest in all things Italian.

Gillian Forrest

Gillian qualified at St. Thomas’s Hospital Medical School, and after some training in Paediatrics, she trained as a child and adolescent psychiatrist. Gillian worked as a consultant at the Park Hospital for Children Oxford for 22 years, managing in-patients and out-patients from 5 – 13 years old with a range of mental health problems, and was Clinical Director for 10 years. Gillian was also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Oxford, and published research on breaking bad news, perinatal death, children’ hospice care, breast cancer and children.

Nick Goodwin

Nick Goodwin has been a trustee since November 2007. He is a barrister specialising in cases relating to child protection and matrimonial finance. Much of his work arises from the representation of Local Authorities on applications to take children into care following abuse allegations, but he also represents parents, prospective adopters and children themselves, through their Guardians. He practices out of chambers in Oxford but appears throughout the courts of the Midlands and South Eastern circuit.

Eva Rogers

Eva Rogers is a qualified horticulturalist and has worked in several different fields which include Garden Consultant and Designer and Adult Education Tutor of Gardening. Eva became a Trustee at the Mulberry Bush when Robin Reeves was Principal and needed advice on improving the school grounds and help with maintaining them. Eva was involved with the design and planting of the gardens of the four new houses when they were built, as well as the garden outside the main entrance. Eva has offered her services whenever required regarding the grounds and has enjoyed being involved with the school over a period of many years.

Christine Warriner

Christine has been connected with the Mulberry Bush for a number of years having worked as a volunteer for one year (1978/9) and then returning to work at the school, as a Residential Social Worker for five years. Christine trained as a Social Worker and worked in both mental health and child care services before becoming a trainer in Mental Health and a Practice Assessor for social work trainees. She really enjoyed the opportunity and experience of enabling social workers to develop their skills and increase their knowledge. For the last three years Christine has worked as a social worker in the Family Placement Service in Oxfordshire. Christine is pleased to be involved with the Mulberry Bush School as a trustee. Christine is married with two children.
